More and more stores are allowing customers to shop with their favorite shopping buddies- their pups! We all know that look when we leave our dog behind for errands. I find myself providing a detailed response to justify my departure, only to receive a head tilt in return.
The rules may change at any time for these dog friendly stores. Be sure to call ahead to any store you plan on visiting to obtain their guidelines. Keep in mind, outdoor shopping areas are typically more lax vs an indoor mall.

8 Stores that are not pet friendly but do allow service dogs:
4. Costco

6. REI
8.JCPenney (although pets are allowed for photo shoots)
It is becoming more common for stores to allow dogs. For many of us, our dogs are our favorite companions. Look for small businesses in your area that are dog friendly. I find that many independent book stores allow pups in their stores as well as breweries and wineries. Due to restrictions with dogs around food, restaurants do not typically allow dogs indoors. But they may be welcome on an outdoor patio.
